Gaza, the forgotten genocide.
Whilst this is directly political I would urge all members to consider the following article and consider the juxtaposition of our lives with these people / children .
SJA as a charity started in 2011 and 12 trying to take explicit action against the atrocities occurring in Somalia and Kenya .
I ask all individual members to please consider the appeal as attached from an individual humanitarian perspective .
This is about humanity and suffering .
What can I do ?? How may I help ???

SJASC Volunteer required
Hi folks
I'm on the lookout for a volunteer to help with the Lumen Christi SJASC chapter.
This is a very easy, very occasional, and pleasant way to make a contribution to the all important endeavour to instil in the school children of the Bega Valley the enjoyment and rewards that spring from being a community volunteer.
At Lumen, Eden High and Bega High, the SJASC has 'chapters'. We assign each school SJASC Lead Liaison and Deputy Liaison volunteers.
I am the Lead Liaison for Lumen. I'm looking for a Deputy Liaison person.
We are mentoring the next generation of Social Justice Advocates.
At Lumen, they run two groups – a primary school group and a secondary school group.
As a rule, each group ( alternating ) meets every two weeks for 30 minutes during lunch break.
Antoinette Woods, Deputy Principal, is the key co-ordinator. Antoinette lets me know when she thinks a visit by an SJASC rep would be good. Doesn't happen every week.
As Deputy Liaison you would perhaps visit, on request from Antoinette, if I happen to be unavailable. Or, if you came to really enjoy it you could step up as you see fit.
Visiting the kids is fun, easy, and rewarding. We encourage the kids to create their own projects, then support them in any way we see fit.
Ever wondered what you might do to help the SJASC ?
Contact me on 0423 360 449 if interested and we'll discuss how you might like to ease your way in.
Cheers
Pete
Chair SJASC.
