We Are Making A Difference

Hello Members and Supporters,

****Over the last three days (29-31/12/23) SJA has delivered a caravan to a young woman living in a tent at Pericoe .
She was thrilled with the van and looks forward to having  the comfort, warmth and dry.

If you check Google Maps you will find Pericoe down near the border, behind Towamba.

**** We met with folks SJA has helped since the fires at Pericoe and the changes in lives is SO  significant and roofs, sanitation, general assistance always create massive goodwill and especially HOPE .

**** Then yesterday a very generous community member donated a caravan that cost $ 11,000
Pictured below this fully refurbished van sleeps six and can be totally independent operating in substantial solar collection .
Eleven months rego and all appliances and linen cutlery etc etc .
This van was collected from Mallacoota today and is pictured below .
It is allocated to a single mum to live in from Tuesday through Mission Australia.

THANK YOU TO THIS  PERSON FOR SHOWING SUCH COMPASSION and helping directly and practically those in need of the basic human right ____ SHELTER .

**** Then also yesterday SJA purchased a similar size van, from Bermagui with funds from the community via the ‘It’s Up To Us’ campaign.

This will be collected on Tuesday morning and allocated to a person from Mission later this week.

The seller of this van , from Sydney , was emotionally impacted and tearful when she heard of the support for  our community through its generosity is giving to our homeless.

She was so pleased that her van was to be used to support in this way .

She also left many many extras ( everything ) in the van for our needy families .

On this the last  day of 2023 , these recent moments really reinforced the massive importance of the work our SJA are doing within and with our Bega Valley community .

Combine this with the spontaneous celebration on Christmas morning at the Wild  Ryes roastery which raised $3,800

We are making a difference .

What can I do ?? How may I help ??
