Hello valued SJA members,
Good News Story Alert!!!
Hi all ,
We need to know first hand the potential impact of Social Justice Advocates crisis caravan initiative. 28 caravans out last night as well as our crisis units in Bega and Pambula.
We recently collected a van after nearly two years from the outer reaches of the shire in Pericoe, South and inland from Eden.
The following letter from the young lady and a Christmas card were left in the spotless van –
“ To the lovely people at SJAs of the Sapphire Coast .
A most heartfelt thank you from the depths of my heart .
Thank you for providing me a roof over my head in my time of need .
I won’t go into detail but I had hit my lowest of lows just a week or so prior to my neighbours calling you all and asking for help on my behalf .
It was not my choice to move into this property and end up in a tent , but it was my first and only window of opportunity to escape the abusive situation I was in . I’ll admit , I did cry quite a bit after you dropped off the van .
This place to live has given my best friend Bean ( cat ) and I a home now for nearly 2 years and i have taken pride in cleaning it. She has held up in extreme winds and rain with little to no leaks and has sheltered our little neighbourhood , grey roo ‘nugget ‘ as well ! My pot plants have thrived through the winter on ( under ) the kitchen counter too.
I wanted to let you know that I have turned a 360 degree ( not just mentally ) and will be coming into some inheritance soon – so I am looking forward to supporting you back ten-fold for what you have given me . I’ll keep in touch .
Thank you infinitely ,
All my love, wishes, prosperity blessings and gratitude . “
Well folks, this is why our community is growing.
Keep up the positive support through all the sub groups and initiatives we have, and those we plan into the future .
The programs we operate do work for our people in so many ways .
What can I do ???? How may I help ????
