Grow the Future Holiday Workshops
Hi all, I hope you’re well.
I’m just reaching out to share that we are running a couple of winter holiday workshops that are free to all 12-24 year olds.
The workshops are great opportunities for young people who might be considering taking part in our Grow the Future Training Certificate this spring (enrolments will be opening in August for a September start) or our ‘Hands-On’ program in terms 3 or 4.
They are great ‘bite sized’ opportunities for young people to dip their toe in the water, get a feel for the space and what Grow the Future has to offer, and gain some skills and social connections in the process!
If you know a young person who might be keen, then we'd love to have them onboard! And if you are happy to share these programs with your network, we'd really appreciate it!
Check out the details below, and if you’d like to follow up on anything, please don’t hesitate to get in contact!
Thanks
Cal
MUSHROOM GROWING.
Wednesday July 16, 10am – 12noon
Grow the Future Farm, 20 Auckland Street, Bega
Grow the Future is offering a series of hands-on workshops for 12-24 year olds in the winter school holidays.
Dive into the magical world of mushrooms with local fungi wizard Josh Whitworth who is the owner of Collective Cultures. Learn about the lives of mushrooms, and the different ways that we can grow them ourselves. Get hands-on and grow your own oyster mushrooms, see how they can be grown using re-usable buckets and work as a team to help establish an outdoor garden for Wine Cap Mushrooms. We’re looking forward to creating a space where 12-24 year olds can come and learn something new and meet others and make connections in the process. We aim to make all our offerings accessible, inclusive and supportive for all young people, so please DM us if you have any questions, or would like to know more about these workshops.

1. A huge thanks to those volunteers who made the great effort to help with the shed clean up last Saturday: one of our least known but largest storage shed. (see below)
Five truck loads and two trailer loads were needed for our tip runs
THANK YOU ALL for stepping up:-
Suzanne, Helene, Martin, Sue, Peter R, Steve, Mark, Sam and kids, Gordon and Russell
I’ve been 'gunna' do that for the last two years or so……………..
So good to have access to and be able to actually see and touch the back wall.
Yep this now upsets the vermin, rats, but it enables our SJA shed to be used properly again.
2. Repeating a huge thank you to the two families who responded to the need for a car.
Today the woman has achieved some peace of mind, security, safety and can actually be more independent in moving her children.
THANK YOU to our most generous donor(s).
THIS is community.
What can I do ?????? How may I help ?????
Cheers
Mb
