Festival of the Dad  (flyer attached)

Sapphire Neighbourhood Services is excited to share the new date for the Festival of the Dad and would love to invite the SJA team to be involved in this community celebration.

You’re welcome to join in whatever way suits your team — whether that’s hosting an SJA information stall, running a simple activity, or just coming along for the day to celebrate fathers a models in our community.

If this is something you’d be interested in, please get in touch and we can chat through the details.

When: Saturday 21st February  2026

Time:  11am – 5pm

Location:  Ford Park, Merimbula

Free, family-friendly community event, everyone one is welcome.

The Festival of the Dad celebrates dads and father figures, strengthens family connections, and promotes positive masculinity. Families can enjoy live music, entertainment, activities dedicated “Dad Cave”—a relaxed space to talk about men’s wellbeing and fatherhood. Local services will be supporting this festival and providing information and fun on the day. 

This event is part-funded by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) through their community grants program, supporting initiatives that build resilience and wellbeing We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing the attached poster and event details with families and the Bega Valley Community.

Come along: we do a couple of hours light maintenance duties eg weeding, path maintenance etc Stay for morning tea afterwards.

A live music fundraising event supporting Stage 1 of the Power to the People Solar Garden & Flywheel Energy Storage System.

Join Frankie J Holden, Candy McVeity, Garry Carson Jones, Chris Ralphs, Felicity Dowd & friends for a fun filled night of entertainment. Music, Food, Bar Service, Dancing and Auctions

Led by the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast, with support from the Sapphire Coast Historic Vehicle Club, this project will use locally generated solar power stored in a Flyw system. New Community Driving School – Job opportunity

Eden Community Access Centre is starting a new Community Drive School to support Bega Valley residents of all ages. We’re now looking to recruit and train people with the r take the wheel as driving instructors – steady under pressure, patient, organised and motivated by helping others succeed.

We will cover all professional training and accreditation costs, provide secure employment with generous community-sector conditions and offer access to performance-based bo drive school develops and succeeds.

Experience in transport, Police, defence, emergency services or community leadership is highly valued. Women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly e apply. Full-time and part-time roles available (Employment is under the Community Services Award depending on experience commencing at 38.65p/hr + super, leave & training).

Essential Criteria

imageCurrent full Australian driver licence with a strong, safe driving history.

Genuine interest in supporting people and contributing to community wellbeing.

Strong communication skills, fluent english, patience and the ability to build rapport with diverse learners.

Willingness to undertake required training and accreditation.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries.

Capacity to work flexible hours, including after school, evenings and weekends.
