Pull up to Parliament, crunchtimeaus and Social Justice Advocates – October 2024

I want to give a special shout out to Jacob Shields, Juliet Fontaine, Freya Occleshaw and Poppy Collins, the crunchtimeaus team for instigating and organising a brilliant 2 day, Pull up to Parliament event.
So what is crunchtimeaus and Pull up to Parliament I can hear you asking?
Crunchtimeaus is a non-governmental local organization, created by youth for youth with the aim of tackling current and relevant issues. The group look to empower and inspire young people to find their voice and in doing so, find themselves.
The recent crunchtimeaus event saw a Youth delegation from the far south coast and others further up the coast demand action on housing and environment at Parliament house Sydney. Several State Ministers attended the event including: Rose Jackson NSW Housing Minister, Penny Sharpe, NSW Environment Minister, Dr Michael Holland MP for Bega, Liza Butler MP for South Coast,  and Alison Worthington Eurobodalla Deputy Mayor. Mick Brosnan AM (Convenor of the Social Justice Advocates group in housing) was also part of the Q@A session. The crunchtimeaus members coordinated the entire event and spoke brilliantly about their concerns The Crunchtime Saving Tura’s Biodiversity film was included in the program. Niamh Occleshaw was the official photographer and the event was well attended by the young labour group and other passionate young people. A brilliant event run entirely by inspiring young people. Please check out crunchtime aus on Instagram to learn more and read about future events.
I was so impressed by this crunchtimeaus team. Impressed with their: commitment, professionalism, energy, fabulous organisation and cleverness in bringing this event to fruition while encouraging other young people to join them.
