The Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP) – a four year program will commence in mid 2022. Denise Perry will be at the meeting Thursday May 12, 2022, to provide an overview and answer questions.
This program enables groups of everyday Australians (including those in regional communities) to welcome refugees into their local area from ‘day one’ of their Australian journey and provide them with practical resettlement and integration support, in line with other community sponsorship programs operating successfully around the world. The program will support 1,500 refugees from 2022 to 2025. You can read the government’s media release here and our response here.
While some of the finer details of the program are still being ironed out, we’re wasting no time in finding groups of everyday Australians who are eager to put their hands up to welcome and support refugees to settle in their communities.
